Singapore is a melting pot of cultural experiences and modern-day adventure. Tourists from across the globe come here to relax, enjoy themselves with friends, family, or their partners, or for business.
The pandemic obstructed this flow of tourists into Singapore briefly, but as we are moving towards a semblance of normalcy, we can soon revisit some of these places.
By practicing safe social distancing and taking necessary precautions, you can soon explore these popular places as they begin reopening.
Places to visit in Singapore after COVID-19
1. Stroll through the Outdoor Gardens at Gardens by the Bay
The Outdoor Gardens at Gardens by the Bay is a major attraction for tourists as well as residents alike.
While many people prefer going in the daytime to observe and walk amongst the greenery, real magic begins at night. It’s when night falls that this place truly comes alive – of course, with cooler temperatures. Walk on the lit-up boardwalk along Dragonfly Lake, or stop to watch the illuminated Supertrees backdrop. You may visit anytime from 5:00 am to 2:00 am.
2. Stargaze at the Science Centre Singapore
Singapore’s observatory is located near the equator makes it a unique destination to stargaze that you can’t miss on your next visit. On a clear night, you can observe constellations from both the northern and southern hemispheres. It’s a rare treat for the eyes that you can’t witness almost anywhere else in the world.
The observatory accepts visitors on Friday evenings, and the tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
3. Have fun at East Coast Park
East Coast Park is one of Singapore’s local hotspots for outdoor activities and is a great option for families with kids of all ages. With a 15km-long beach, you can happily swim all day, or take your kids to the Marine Cove playground, complete with jungle gym equipment, a rock-climbing wall, and interactive digital games stations.
4. Wander the hip streets, boutiques, and cafes of Haji Lane
Chase down your youth along the hipster street of Haji Lane, where indie vibes reign supreme and your chilled attitude won’t fade. The narrow lane is an explosion of color, peppered with street art a focal point as you stride along. Pro tip: keep your cameras handy for trendy couples’ pictures on your way.
With a bunch of cafés, boutiques, all-night-open bars, and live music, there’s no dearth of activities for you to enjoy here.
